Learning Objective- 1.1 Explore the development of branding over time how it has been affected by cultural trends and the design technology available.
Week one
Learning outcomes
- *Create a review page using Mac Pages- selecting three company’s logos that the learners feel are attractive and enhances the image of the company. Next to each logo learners must write a paragraph reviewing the brand identity.
Success Criteria
- C grade- Select three bold logo’s e.g Converse Describe the visual qualities of the brand and discuss what audience it is aimed at.
- B grade- All of the above- Discussion about why the logo is attractive and how it enhances the brand. Think about the style of the brand e.g Skater Punk
- A grade- In addition to above add your personal detail what attracts you to the logo and how would you re design it and why?

- Mind map “What is branding/marketing of a company or product?”
- Develop a timeline of a brand identify through research. Select five-six logo designs that have changed over the years and reviewing each design stage. Discuss how the design haas been affected by the era and design technology available.
- Design ideas for timeline poster- mini drawings
- Final design mock up with logos and written descriptions added.
- Create a brand evolution poster, which will be used within the museum of brands in London- Illustrator workshop- Screen grabs must be taken showing step by step of how you created your poster must be included on blog.
- Photoshop – composite image in live situation workshop. Photoshop workshop- Screen grabs must be taken showing step by step of how you created your poster must be included on blog.
Success Criteria
C grade-
- Create a Mind map “What is branding/marketing of a company or product?”
- Develop a timeline of a brand identify reviewing each design evolution.
- Create a brand evolution poster, which will be used within the museum of brands in London- Illustrator workshop page showing how you made your final poster on illustrator.
- Photoshop investigation section – composite image- Place final poster in live situation workshop.
- Screen grad and review how both program were used-homework.
B grade-
- You must complete all of the tasks above developing imaginative designs from the evaluation poster taking into account the branding of the museum. There logo must be used with the poster design. Your investigation blogs must show step by step how you used illustrator and Photoshop to complete the creation of your final design.
- You must show reflective learning, discussing your design and how the audience and client will view it. What message are you putting over to the viewer and are you working with a specific style?
